Depending on their grade level, Northville Elementary students may take different tests or assessments during their K-5 years. Some information about these tests is provided below.
STAR Testing
The STAR Early Literacy assessment is a computer-based program that helps educators understand the literacy and numeracy skills of students in prekindergarten through third grade. This assessment is designed to help educators understand a student’s skills even if they are still learning how to read.
Grades 3-8 ELA and Mathematics Tests
English Language Arts (ELA) and mathematics tests are administered each spring to students in grades 3-8 across New York state. These tests are required by the federal Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) of 2015. Tests are designed to measure student mastery of learning standards in each subject.
