Congratulations, Class of 2024 Valedictorian, Salutatorian and Honor Graduates!

Northville Central School District is proud to announce the Class of 2024 Honor Graduates, including valedictorian Amy Williams and salutatorian Landon Lent. The 2024 NCS Honor Graduates are all college bound and have already earned college credits through their coursework at Northville. Congratulations on your stellar high school careers and your bright futures!

Amy Williams, Valedictorian

Amy Williams, daughter of Steve and Stella Williams, has been named valedictorian of Northville High School’s Class of 2024. Amy has maintained a rigorous schedule throughout high school, including numerous college-level classes such as chemistry, physics, college biology, English 103 & 104, algebra II, pre-calculus, calculus, Spanish 4, Spanish 5, American political systems, and honors economics. She will receive the New York State Seal of Biliteracy in Spanish upon graduation.

Throughout her high school career, Amy participated in various extracurricular activities, including serving as vice-president and president of the National Honor Society, vice-president of the Student Council, secretary and president of the International Club, secretary of Spectrum Club, accounting manager of the school store, while also participating in SADD, Chorus, and the Girls’ Athletic Association (GAA). In addition, she was a member of Northville’s Varsity Soccer and Cheerleading teams, and Northville-Mayfield’s Varsity Track team.

Amy worked at Oak Mountain as a ski instructor during the winter, worked at the Inn at Bridge during the summer, and babysat year-round. Her work experience in and out of school has furthered her work ethic in her studies and has taught her important, valuable lessons. She plans to continue her studies at a four-year college in New York City to pursue a degree in psychology.

Landon Lent, Salutatorian

Landon Lent, son of Nicole and Edward Lent, has been named salutatorian of Northville’s Class of 2024. Landon has maintained a full schedule throughout his senior year taking FMCC college-level classes including physics, college-level English, American political systems, and economics. He also has taken pre-calculus and research seminar classes sponsored by SUNY Albany. Landon’s research seminar project focused on maximization of plant growth under a hydroponic culture.

Throughout his high school career, Landon has been an active member in many extracurricular activities, including National Honor Society, Varsity Soccer, Varsity Basketball, Earth Club, E-Sports Club, Drama Club, Varsity Club and serving as class president. He spent his time outside of school working at local businesses and his family farm. Landon is also an active member of his church and devotes weekends to helping out in the sound booth. He also participated in Boys’ State, where he found a love for service to those around him.

Landon has gained a love for the criminal justice system and law enforcement with support from his friends, family and mentors. In the fall, he intends to attend SUNY Brockport to pursue a degree in criminal justice. He plans to then attend the New York State Police Academy and become a state trooper.

Caitlin Clapper, Honor Graduate

Caitlin Clapper, daughter of Amy and Steve Clapper, has been named a Northville High School honor graduate. Caitlin maintained a full schedule throughout high school, including numerous college-level classes such as English, pre-calculus, algebra II, American political systems, US history and government, honors economics and biology.

Throughout her high school career, Caitlin participated in many extracurricular activities, including Band, Chorus and Art & Music Honor Society. She was also treasurer of Drama Club, vice-president of SADD, vice-president of National Honor Society, and served as class secretary and then class treasurer. Caitlin performed in the school play in her junior and senior years, and co-coached an elementary Odyssey of the Mind team after participating in that program for six years. In addition, she ran track for six years and played six years of soccer and five years of basketball, earning many awards for her excellence along the way.

In the fall, Caitlin plans to attend SUNY Plattsburgh to study fitness and wellness leadership while also competing for the Cardinals’ track and field team.

Erik Gutowski, Honor Graduate

Erik Gutowski, son of Ruthanne and Jeffrey Gutowski, has been named a 2024 Northville High School honor graduate. Erik has taken several college-level courses throughout high school, including physics, English, algebra II, American political systems, and honors economics through FMCC and pre-calculus through SUNY Albany. In addition, Erik has been a leader of an advanced fabrication technology program that has designed an advanced, fully autonomous farming robot along with many other projects for local companies.

Throughout his high school career, Erik participated in various extracurricular activities, including membership in Student Advisory, National Honor Society, Earth Club and E-Sports Club, and served as vice-president for the Class of 2024 and Student Council representative. He also participated in varsity sports throughout high school.

In his spare time, Erik enjoys being with friends and family. His work experience has furthered his work ethic in his studies, and the amazing people around him have taught him essential, valuable lessons. He plans to continue his studies at SUNY Polytechnic, where he will major in engineering for his future career as a mechanical engineer.

Hunter Hoffman, Honor Graduate

 

 

Hunter Hoffman, son of Alesha and Scott Hoffman, has been named a 2024 Northville High School honor graduate. Hunter has maintained a full schedule throughout high school, including two college-level classes, chemistry and algebra II.

 

In his spare time, Hunter enjoys riding his dirt bike, playing his guitar, and fishing down at the Great Sacandaga Lake. After high school, he is planning to further his education at FMCC.

Alexa Poulin, Honor Graduate

Alexa Poulin, child of Gregg Poulin, has been named an honor student in Northville High School’s Class of 2024. Alexa has prepared herself for college in her senior year by attending HFM CTE and taking college English, college art, and even more college classes in her junior year.

Throughout her high school career, Alexa has participated in extracurricular activities such as Art Club and the Art & Music Honor Society. She also submitted artwork to the Paul Nigra Center for Creative Arts and also created the art piece celebrating the 100-year anniversary of the Northville Placid Trail.

Alexa enjoys spending her free time with her family as well as furthering her own personal skills. In the fall, she will attend SUNY Plattsburgh to pursue a degree in digital media production to advance her interest in film and media marketing.

Savannah Riggi, Honor Graduate

Savannah Riggi, daughter of Stephanie and Patrick Vandenburg and Dave Riggi, has been named an honor graduate of the Northville High School Class of 2024. Savannah has maintained a full schedule throughout high school, including numerous college-level classes such as English, pre-calculus, algebra II, American political systems, honors economics, research seminar and biology.

Throughout her high school career, Savannah participated in various extracurricular activities, including serving as president of the Student Council, secretary of the National Honor Society, and Student Council representative. She also participated in Concert Chorus and was the student director of the elementary musical “Annie”. Savannah earned membership in the Art & Music Honor Society and the Northville chapter of the National Honor Society, and worked as backstage crew for the NCS Drama Club productions for six years. Savannah made her stage debut during her senior year as Sally Jackson in “The Lighting Thief:  The Percy Jackson Musical”. She was also a part of the Northville Varsity Cheer team and GAA.

Although she has not yet decided upon a major, Savannah will attend SUNY Brockport in the fall. She would like to thank all the school staff who helped push her to become the student she is today.
